When your enemy falls,
do not rejoice.
When your enemy stumbles,
do not be glad.
Your glee will corrupt you,
your ego will trick you into thinking
that you are different from them.
You will excuse your evil,
and your fate will be as theirs.
One who rejoices at another's hurt
is an enemy of all.
Parshat Naso is the longest single parsha in the Torah, clocking in at 176 verses. That’s Torah’s way of saying, “Hey, you might want to take a long , serious and contemplative look at what you’re about to learn.”
