There are three Sidras in the Torah that deal specifically with the commandments (mitzvot) governing the societal life of Israel all rooted first and foremost in love and awe (yirah) of HaShem. These are last week’s Re’eh, this week’s Shoftim, and next week’s Ki Seitzei.
Parshat Naso is the longest single parsha in the Torah, clocking in at 176 verses. That’s Torah’s way of saying, “Hey, you might want to take a long , serious and contemplative look at what you’re about to learn.”
